SAML

The "Simple Algebraic Math Library" is a C library for computer algebra, together with some application programs: a desktop calculator, a spreadsheet (sort of) and a program to factorize integers. The SAML distribution now includes Python bindings with some sample scripts.

This library is freely redistributable, according to the GNU public licence. To get it, click here.

It has been tested under Linux 2.0 and SunOS 4.1.3_U1. Porting it to other 32-bit Unix systems should be straightforward. You'll need gcc, GNU make, gdbm, perl and python to compile and use the software.

Important note: SAML is no longer maintained.
