Gluing constructions for Kahler-Ricci solitons

Résumé : In recent work with Olivier Biquard, we constructed a large new family of steady Ricci solitons. These solitons are Kahler, and their underlying (noncompact) Calabi-Yau manifolds are equivariant crepant resolutions of certain singular affine varieties.
This result is proved by a gluing construction. I will give an introduction to the gluing method in geometry, using our result as the major example.
