Almost every 3-IET is not simple

Jeudi 6 avril 2017 14:00-15:00 - Jon Chaika - University of Utah

Résumé : This talk will present that almost every 3-IET is not simple. That is it has ergodic self joinings that are neither the product measure or « supported on a graph. » This answers a question of Veech. Moreover, the ergodic self joinings are (weak-*) dense in the self-joinings. Relevant terminology will be defined.
This is joint work with Alex Eskin.

Lieu : Bâtiment 425, salle 121-123.

Notes de dernières minutes : Café culturel à 13h par Elise Goujard.
